WHAT IS RADON?

Radon is an odorless, colorless, radioactive gas that develops with the natural breakdown of uranium in soil and rock. Radon can migrate through permeable rocks and soils and eventually seep into buildings or be released into the atmosphere. Radon is measured in units of picocuries per liter (pCi/l) of radon in the air.

Radon is an invisible radioactive gas that has been around since the dawn of time. That doesn’t mean that your home inspector should use technology that is almost that old! We take the safety of your home seriously and so should you. Here are a few reasons to trust us with your home inspection and especially when it comes to environmental concerns.

We use state of the art continuous radon monitors.

We follow the Environmental Protection Agency’s standards for monitoring radon.

Our equipment meets or exceeds the EPA’s recommendations.

Our equipment is truly tamper resistant as recommended by the EPA.

We provide results as soon as the test is complete. A digital report is delivered the same day the test is completed.

WHAT ARE THE HEALTH RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH RADON?

The only known health risk associated with Radon is the potential to develop lung cancer. In addition, smoking combined with radon exposure greatly increases the risk for developing lung cancer.
